Chefs, Restaurants and Event Lineup for 7th Annual Wine & Food Festival

minimainpicWESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. (May 9, 2017)Westchester Magazine’s Annual Wine & Food Festival returns for lucky number year seven! This year’s event will take place from Tuesday, June 6th – through Sunday, June 11th throughout Westchester County. Guests will love popular favorites like the Burger & Beer Blast and the Grand Tasting Village and new events like Salute! A Wine Tasting Tour of Italy, Taste & Style at Savor Westchester and Jr. Chef Experience.

The festival, which draws more than 6,500 people from across the New York Metro area including New York City, Westchester County, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut, will feature 100 top restaurants and a selection of world-class wines.

“The seventh incredible year of the Wine & Food Festival will serve up even more signature bites, delicious drinks and demos by some of the greatest chefs in Westchester,” said Publisher Ralph Martinelli. “We’ve added days to bring festival goers even more so come join us for Westchester’s premier culinary event!”

Tuesday, June 6
ALL NEW! Salute! A Wine Tasting Tour of Italy

Westchester Italian Cultural Center, Tuckahoe

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The event is hosted by Joe Armentano, member of the Westchester Italian Cultural Center.

Celebrate the regions of Italy during this walk-around tasting featuring the red and white wines of Tuscany, Veneto, Piedmonte, Trentino-Alto, Adige, Sicily and Sardinia while enjoying fine Italian delicacies.  Join author and wine expert Kevin Zraly in the “Gran Selezione Cellar” for tastings of special vintages.  Enjoy a lively cooking demonstration of an Italian specialty. Chef Andy Nusser of Tarry Lodge will prepare Mortadella & Robiola Panini and Peach Crostata with Lemon Thyme Ricotta. DeCicco’s will provide Italian specialty foods and desserts.

Burger & Beer Blast

The popular Burger & Beer Blast is back! With 30 restaurants participating, the event is sure to be a foodie’s delight. All attendees will vote to see which local restaurant out of the 30 will take home the grand prize and be crowned “Burger and Beer Blast Champion!” The competition is fierce as ticket holders will vote for their preferred burger throughout the evening and at night’s end, one burger will be crowned with the prestigious “Heineken Light Best Burger” award.  William Grant and Sons will mix up cocktails for this fun evening.

As the event’s official ground beef sponsor, Schweid & Sons, a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated meat purveyor, is providing custom blends of premium cuts of beef as well as Certified Angus Beef ®, Wagyu, All-Natural, Hereford, Angus, Chuck and more for the participating restaurants.

World-class wines and spirits selected by Wine Expert Kevin Zraly, in partnership with Varmax Liquor Pantry, will be poured at this one-night-only event.

Spend the morning with your little ones as they learn the basics of cooking. This hands-on event encourages creativity as kids learn basic cooking techniques from working chefs. Your little culinary artists will also practice pizza making courtesy of Tomato & Co and cupcake decorating courtesy of Sur La Table and Williams-Sonoma…and don’t worry, they’ll share their finished treats with you! Characters from Nick Junior’s Paw Patrol and Chopped Junior champion Elizabeth Oakes will be on-hand for meet & greets, so be sure to have your phones ready for pictures. Little chefs will also receive a complimentary chef’s apron.  This event is limited to 150 participants so purchase your tickets today. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
