‘AN EVENING WITH WESTCHESTER’S TASTEMAKERS’ BRINGS SIGNATURE DISHES, HIGH-END WINES AND TALENTED CHEFS TO WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL

WESTCHESTER, NY (May 4, 2017)Experience Westchester cuisine like a celebrity at the most exclusive event of the Wine & Food Festival. With the area’s top chefs and the world’s top wines being served, An Evening With Westchester’s Tastemakers is an incomparable six-course feast unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Hosted at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton, this evening is sure to be truly spectacular.

World-class wines and spirits selected by Wine Expert Kevin Zraly, in partnership with Varmax Liquor Pantry, will be poured at this one-night-only event.

“This truly one-of-a-kind event is always a highlight of the festival and this year will be no different,” said Westchester Magazine Publisher Ralph Martinelli. “Once again, we are thrilled to work with Varmax Liquor Pantry and Wine Expert Kevin Zraly who have chosen the perfect wines for each delicious course.”

The evening will honor Westchester Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett for his outstanding support of Westchester’s business community.

The following lists the chefs, restaurants and delectable six-course menu:

Cocktail Hour:

 1st Course:

David DiBari, The Cookery
Mortadella cream puff with raw honey mustard and toasted pistachio

2nd Course:

Peter Kelly, X2O Xaviars on the Hudson
Alaskan Black Cod with honey and sake glaze, ragout of orzo, broccoli rabe and delcabo tomatoes, and morel jus
Wine pairing: Domaine Laroche Chablis Blanchots 2012

 

3rd Course:

Andy Nusser, Tarry Lodge
Lasagna bolognese

4th Course:

Allen Brothers NY Strip Steak and smoked short rib with sweet potato hush puppy, amish cheddar cheese corn grits, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and blackberry BBQ sauce

After Dessert:

Macallan Rare Cask Scotch

A Live and silent auction filled with fabulous items including a four-night trip to Sonoma, CA, gift baskets filled with wines and spirits being poured throughout the Wine & Food Festival and more.  All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester, dedicated to ending hunger in Westchester County.

The evening is being sponsored by Casamigos Tequila, Forevermark, Riedel, Wilson & Son Jewelers and Zwilling Cooking Studio.
